The strategy of fusing sensory information at a behavioral level offers a robust and flexible coordination of intelligent actions. Sub-behaviors that are in charge of tactile sensing and computer vision respectively work independently while the robot looks to be coordinated in a consistent manner. While sensing technology has been directed towards collecting measurements, the tactile sensors were specifically developed in order to obtain behavioral feedback information.
