A bluetooth device for pots is designed to remotely provide information about the temperature and salinity level of the content during cooking. The device is mounted on the cap of a pot with the prove dipped in the content during a cooking process. The device communicates with a smartphone via. bluetooth low energy to provide the information in realtime. The device is equipped with a salinity sensor and semiconductor temperature sensor on an Arduino. Reporting the salinity level of the pot content is intended to help ones reduce salt intake and the temperature information is used for the sake of safety. The smartphone application provides cooking information such as recipes. This project was carried out in collaboration with ION Design, Inc., and Recursivesoft, Co., Ltd. with my role to design the hardware functionality and implementation, and the smartphone application design.
